Witnesses to Fatal Crash Sought

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office hopes someone who witnessed a deadly crash in Ypsilanti Township Wednesday will come forward to help investigators piece together what happened.

The crash happened around 6:10 Wednesday evening on Hewitt near Valley when one vehicle crossed the center line and hit an oncoming vehicle head-on. The driver of the car that crossed the line was killed.

Livonia Woman Survives Car-Train Crash

A 23-year old Livonia woman is lucky to be alive after her 2006 Ford Focus hit a train on Pontiac Trail in Ann Arbor in the early morning hours. The crash happened just south of Warren Road. Sergeant Geoffrey Fox of the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office says the woman's car struck the side of the freight train around 4:30 Friday morning, causing her car to be pushed into a ditch.
