Of his 20+ years working in radio, nearly three-quarters has been right here at WEMU. Since 1994, David has taken to the air at 5am each weekday on 89.1 FM. Through time, Dave has had the opportunity to interview nationally and internationally known politicians, activists and celebrities. But, David feels the most important features and interviews have been with those who live and work here at home. He believes his professional passions and desires fit perfectly into WEMU’s commitment to serving a local audience.
That passion can be found in two of weekly features David produces. “Issues of the Environment” is an award-winning segment heard every Wednesday morning. Launched in 1995, the segment has featured over 600-guests, and approached important environmental issues with a very specific, local bent. The other feature is found on Thursday mornings. Dave sits down with Michigan Theater Executive Director Russ Collins for a most entertaining conversation on movies, culture and live events to be experienced in the local area.
Dave’s outside interests include watching his two daughters participate in dance and singing competitions, experiencing live music, and going to Ohio State football games. There are many other interests, but they’ve been sacrificed in favor of the occasional nap.
