Washtenaw County, MI – The battle over lthe cost for police units between Washtenaw County officials and Augusta, Salem, and Ypsilanti townships will come to a head in August, if not sooner. The county commissioners ways and means committee voted seven to four Wednesday to set August 18th as the deadline for the three townships to sign contracts or lose police protection beyond state minimum guidelines.
