Mayor Wants Energy Use Goals

Ann Arbor, MI – Ann Arbor Mayor John Heiftje says he hopes the city sets definite goals soon for reductions in energy use by the city.
Heiftje told city council Monday night that he'd like to see the city use 20 percent green energy by 2015 or sooner.
He says a variety of green energy sources, including wind power, could help the city achieve that goal.
Heiftje says additional bike paths and bike lanes would encourage non-motorized transportation, thus reducing the amount of greenhouse gasses produced in the community.
