With the Thanksgiving Day holidaya few days away, it's the busiest travel week of the year.  Local Amtrak train service will be at max capacity.

Amtrak is adding extra trains between Michigan and Illinois to stay on track with busy railroad ridership this week, and will be running every available passenger rail car in its fleet.

Several months of work on the tracks on the Ann Arbor and Chicago route is now complete, and three round-trip trains per day are back to running on the Wolverine line.

Extra trains will be added to local routes this week to accommodate holiday travelers.

Train tickets sell out quickly, so those wishing to get to their holiday travel destination by rail are encouraged to plan ahead andbook tickets early.
