Ann Arbor residents are being asked to weigh in on the city's "Parks and Open Space Plan" concerning the future of the city's parks and recreation system.

Known as the "PROS" Plan, as in "Parks and Recreation Open Space" plan, Ann Arbor city officials want input from residents about the current draft plan, which was based on feedback from a recent online survey and a community meeting held several months ago.

The city's master plan includes identifying park and recreation needs and deficiencies in Ann Arbor and proposed major capital park projects for existing and new parks based on citizen input.

Past citizen input was considered in the creation of a city skate park and reconstruction of a mile of the border-to-border trail.

New input will be gathered until September 5th through the city's website, and a revised plan will be reviewed by the Parks Advisory Commission in late fall.  It will then be submitted to the Ann Arbor City Council for consideration next winter.
