Ann Arbor Public Schools new Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations is excited to work closer to students in a k-12 district again. The district Wednesday night hosted a reception for Marios Demetriou who comes to Ann Arbor from the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District.
Demetriou wants a new challenge and to do something different after a decade in Muskegon. He says Ann Arbor Public School's excellent reputation and having children at Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan made it an easy decision. He thinks this will probably be his last career move.
Demetriou previously worked for Flint schools and EMU. He will split his time between AAPS and Muskegon for the next month and a half before coming to Ann Arbor full-time.
