Drivers in Ann Arbor will pay more for their gasoline than anyone else in the state this 4th of July holiday.

For the ninth week in a row, AAA says the highest average price for gas can be found in the Ann Arbor area at $3.06 a gallon.  The lowest is in Marquette at $2.87.

AAA spokesperson Susan Hiltz explains the high price.

"There's more demand for gas. Then, also, you have some different factors--cost of living, how much it costs for a retailer to sell the gas to customers..."

A year ago, during this same time, the average price in Ann Arbor was $2.35.
