A popular downtown Ypsilanti eatery is expanding its hours. The owners have several reasons for deciding to stretch out a bit.
When you walk into Beezy's Cafe at lunchtime, you're usually hard pressed to find a seat. That's one of the reasons owner Bee Roll is planning to keep Beezy's open evenings in the near future.
"I keep hearing more people saying 'I'd love to come in , but it's either too busy and lunch and I can't get in, or I get off work later'," Roll says. "We decided we could kind of kill two birds with one stone by doing breakfast all the way until close on Friday and Saturday night, so those people that can get here in time for that get to have 'brinner,' breakfast/dinner."
Roll says there are lots of good things happening in the downtown, another reason for wanting to expand hours at Beezy's.
The switch to staying open until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays coincides with Beezy's sixth anniversary in Ypsilanti - the weekend of November 7th.
A gift card fundraising effort will help Beezy's pay for the expansion, at least to start. If you're generous enough you can even have your own plate at the cafe, which Roll says they'll even wash for you after your visit.
