The creative sector in Washtenaw County employs more than 6,000 people and more than 25,000 statewide.
The nonprofit Creative Many Michigan compiled the report using data from the U.S. Labor Department.
Cézanne Charles is the group's Creative Industries Director. “The first big takeaway for me is that the creative industries, both in terms of the region in Ann Arbor as well as what’s going on in Michigan, are making a really significant contribution to the state’s economy.", she says.
The report also found that literary print and publishing is still one of the largest creative industries employers in the county.
