TheEastern Michigan University Board of Regentswill hold a special meeting Friday with just one item on the agenda, the introduction of the candidate, and a recommendation to elect the its 23rd President.
The Regent's vote will take place at 1 p.m. in Welch Hall on the Eastern Michigan University campus on Friday.

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
On behalf of the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents, it is my distinct honor to invite you to attend a special meeting of the Board of Regents that will take place tomorrow, Friday, February 12, at 1 p.m. in 201 Welch Hall for the purpose of electing Eastern Michigan University's 23rd President. The special meeting will include a single agenda item - a recommendation to elect a new University president. The meeting will include brief remarks from members of the Board of Regents.
To further celebrate this historic occasion, a special reception will take place following the Board meeting in the Alumni Room, 342 McKenny Hall. The reception is open to the campus community and will last until 3 p.m.. Those who attend will have the opportunity to greet and welcome our next president.
I hope you will join me at the special board meeting and at the reception that follows. It will be an exciting day for Eastern Michigan University.
In the event that the Board room reaches capacity for the 1 p.m. meeting, a live video and audio feed of the proceedings will take place across the hall from the Board meeting room in 205 Welch Hall.
