The Health Insurance Marketplace Is Now Open For Anyone Who Needs Coverage

Open enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace, also known as Obamacare, is now open.

You should visit healthcare.gov to sign up for the insurance or to find a local community center that can help you with the process in person.  The deadline to register is January 31st 2016.

Krista Nordberg, who is the program manager for the Washtenaw County health plan, says medical coverage could cost less than you think.  Some people are paying less than $50 a month.

If you sign-up for the insurance after the deadline you will pay a fine of $695 or more per person.

Since enrollment for the medical coverage was first offered three years ago, more than twenty-five thousand people in Washtenaw County have signed-up for the insurance.
