Irwin Wins the Democrat Primary For The 18th District State Senate Seat

Former State Representative Jeff Irwin will be favored to win the 18th District State Senate seat in November. The Ann Arborite won the Democratic Primary race by 239 votes over Washtenaw County Commissioner Michelle Deatrick. He also beat out Anuja Rajendra and Mathew Millerin the Democratic primary.

Irwin will face Martin Church in November. Church was unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election winner will replace the current state senator, Rebekah Warren. Warren is being term-limited out of the senate but has won the Democratic primary in the 55th State House District.
