The mass shooting in Orlando, Florida has left many LGBT communities across the country concerned after a gay nightclub was the target.

The Jim Toy Community Center in Ann Arbor says Washtenaw County residents have been supportive since the deadly shooting took place.

Vice President KereneMoore added that the group will take extra precaution when they host their OUTFest event in August.

"We're already working closely with the Ann Arbor police department to make sure that security and protections are in place and that we're prepared. We are also reaching out to the Washtenaw County Sheriff to see what additional support they may be able to provide us."

The center encourages anyone who feels unsafe to contact the authorities or them for help.  For more information on the Jim Toy Community Center, click here.
