The state Legislature returns this week.  One committee is set to see a lot of action.

Judiciary is often one of the busiest committees.  And it looks like 2018 will be no different.

Republican Jim Runestad is chair of the committee.  He says there are a plethora of bills he’s eager to dive into.  They include issues like openly carrying a firearm and property forfeiture by police.

Runestead says he wants to get into these big – and, in some cases, controversial – issues as soon as possible.

"It gets almost that you can only pass changing a road name or something as you get further into the election year.”

Runestead says he also wants to look at a bill that requires Child Protective Servicesto record interviews with children.
