My Brother's Keeper To Host Summit At Eastern Michigan University

Oct 8, 2018

A discussion will be held Monday evening at Eastern Michigan University to explore ways Washtenaw County residents can support boys and young men of color.

It's all part of the "Local Action Summit 3" hosted by the Washtenaw County My Brother's Keeper chapter.  Dr. Tabitha Bentley is the director of strategy for the group.  She says a new campaign called "50 Strong" will be launched at the event to motivate men of color to join the cause.

"Whether that is event planning, whether that is tutoring or showing-up for read alouds," said Bentley.

The event is free and open to the public.  It will take place between 5pm and 8pm at the Student Center ballroom.
