The Ypsilanti community group "A Seat at the Table" will host two candidate forums that will be moderated by youth.

The first one will be held today at 6PM, and it will feature candidates for the Washtenaw County Board of Commissionersin districts 2, 4, and 5.

Ypsilanti Mayor Amanda Edmonds is helping facilitate the event.  She says while everyone is welcome to attend, questions will only be asked by those 22 years or younger.

"The League of Women Voters registered over 800 young people in high schools across Washtenaw County this spring. So, we've got folks who will be new voters."

The second forum will take place Friday, also at 6PM, but with candidates running for state representative in the 54th District and the state Senate in the 18th District.

Both forums will be held at the Sauk Trail Pointe Community Center on Michigan Avenue.
