New Bike Share Program Coming To Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor bike riders will have a new option for getting around the downtown and University of Michigan campus areas starting this summer.

The Clean Energy Coalition plans to install 14 bike sharing stations this spring, with the operation up and running in June.

Nick Helmholdt is ArborBike operations manager.

"We're working closely with the city of Ann Arbor and with our vendor, who is B-Cycle, to make sure everything comes into place to fit that timeline," said Helmholdt.

An ArborBike annual pass will cost $65.  Weekly passes can be purchased for $20, and a daily pass costs $6.  Discounts are also available for businesses and non-profits that want to buy 15 or more annual memberships.

The ArborBike program is being made possible through a federal grant, and with assistance from the City of Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan.
