In addition to picking a presidential candidate, voters in Pittsfield Township are being asked to renew a millage increase to help pay for parks and other recreation areas.

If passed, the 10-year proposal would allow for continued maintenance and service of existing parks.  MandyGrewal is township supervisor.  She says there is also a growing demand for more green spaces in the community.

"Folks want very much to extend on the non-motorized network that we have begun establishing since 2009."

Grewal says, if it passes, they'd like to use some of the money to preserve existing spaces in central and southern Pittsfield Township and acquire new ones in the northeast and northwest parts of the community.
