Pittsfield Township Eyes Banning Grills From Apartment Porches And Decks

pittsfield-mi.gov

Pittsfield Township was thinking about banning charcoal grills from apartment porches and decks before a July 4th fire that damaged several units of an apartment building, but now propane-fired grills may also be a no-no.

Public Safety Director Matt Harshberger says that pending township approval, language will be added to the open burn ordinance prohibiting charcoal grills or grills fired by an open flame from use in multi-family housing.

The issue may come up for a vote at the township board's meeting in August.
