Washtenaw County is one of the state's most expensive counties in which to live.
According to new statistics from "Sperling'sBest Places," the cost of living in Washtenaw County is 6% above the national average.
Washtenaw County Treasurer CatherineMcClary says the high cost of living creates some issues of concern for the community.
"One of the things that people see most clearly is the expense of real estate and trying to buy affordable or rent affordable housing in this county."
McClary does say the county's high-cost of living contributes some positives, as well. That would include better-funded schools and public libraries.
