Red Cross Assists Ann Arbor Families Displaced By Fire

twitter.com

The Red Cross has helped several families find temporary shelter after a fire Wednesday night forced them to vacate their homes.

The fire damaged an apartment complex on Lancashire Drive in northeast Ann Arbor.

Armando Falcon is the Disaster Program Manager for the Red Cross' Washtenaw-Lenawee Chapter. He says they are working on getting the displaced families on the road to recovery.

"Usually we'll work with them for an entire month, even two months if necessary," Falcon says, "making sure they're making those connections with the local community agencies that can help them with whatever their many needs might be."

Falcon says they will have follow-up case workers get in contact with the the families before the end of the weekend.
