Eastern Michigan University students will gather Wednesday to discuss the recent vandalism of a campus pride flag.

No suspects have been identified in the destruction on a large pride flag display on EMU’s campus. The incident happened during the night early last week.

Mary Larkin is the program coordinator at EMU’s LGBT Resource Center. She says the center will gather to discuss the incident Wednesday afternoon.

Larkin says,

“We want to get the community together...this means not only our LGBTQ students. But as well as kind of marketing this as a educational experience for first year students [or] other folks who might not understand why the community felt the impact that they did.”

The event begins at 3:30 in the Kiva Room on EMU’s Campus.
