The National Weather Service has issued A heat advisory to be in effect until 10pm Friday night. Heat indexes today and on Friday will exceed 100-degrees. The temperatures are expected to remain in the 90's Saturday and Sunday, too. If you plan on attending theAnn Arbor Street Art Fair during the next few days, you may want to consider some tips.

The Washtenaw County Health Department says one of the most important things you can do is to stay hydrated.  Try to avoid caffeinated drinks or those that contain alcohol.  Spokesperson Susan Cerniglia says what you wear can also help you stay cool.

"Hats. Sunglasses. Lighter-colored clothing. Sunscreen. All those things can help protect you from the sun."

Remember to also take a break from the heat.  Find shade underneath a tent at the Art Fair or stop by a local library branch to cool off.
