U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Headline Baltia Air Lines Thunder Over Michigan Air Show This Weekend

afthunderbirds.com

Those red, white and blue jets you'll hear (and if you're quick, maybe see) screaming across the skies in eastern Washtenaw County the next few days belong to the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team, in town for this weekend's Baltia Air Lines Thunder over Michigan air show.

Show director Kevin Walsh believes it says good things about the Yankee Air Museum and the volunteers who help make the show possible that the Thunderbirds chose to come here.

"There are 500 plus volunteers here who make this thing what it is," Walsh says.  "Without them it wouldn't work, and it wouldn't be the show that it's renowned that it is. "

Walsh says it's been almost eight years since the Thunderbirds last performed in southeast Michigan.

You'll find the team's modern F-16 jets sharing the sky with a variety of vintage warbirds at the Baltia Air Lines Thunder over Michigan air show, Saturday and Sunday at Willow Run Airport.
