Ypsilanti City Councilwoman Ann Brown wants to win election to the Michigan House of Representatives. The 2nd Ward Democrat will run in the 54th district. That seat in Lansing is presently held by David Rutledge, a Superior Township Democrat. Brown, at one time, served as a district manager for Rutledge who is being term-limited out of office in 2016.
Brown's announcement makes her the first declared candidate in the 54th District race. She has served on Ypsilanti City Council since December of 2014 and previously served as Chairperson of the Ypsilanti Parks Commission.
