Ypsilanti Police Chief Amy Walker Announces Retirement

Ypsilanti Police Chief Amy Walker is retiring.

Walker's October retirement was announced today, and follows more than twenty years of service to the city.

Walker joined the Ypsilanti Police Department in 1992, and worked her way up through the ranks from Patrol Officer to Detective, Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant and Chief.

Walker said it has been an honor to serve the citizens of Ypsilanti, and that she "will always be grateful for the opportunities I was afforded."

Deputy Chief Tony DeGiusti will serve as Interim Chief while Chief Walker's replacement is sought.
