Ypsilanti Public Hearing On Deed Transfer For A Low-Income Housing Complex

The city of Ypsilanti will host a public hearing Tuesday night to discuss transferring the deed of the low-income housing complex,  Parkridge Homes on Armstrong Drive, to the Ypsilanti Housing Commission.

The idea is to demolish the old units currently on the land and build new ones.

City planner Bonnie Wessler says the commission wants to use a new public/private partnership model for the project that many government housing authorities are using but that requires a deed transfer.  If the public opposes the transfer,  the City Council may bring the issue back to the table.

The hearing starts at 7 PM at city hall.
