The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority is a step closer to adding another member community. As WEMU's Andrew Cluley reports, the AAATA Board last night voted unanimously to approve Ypsilanti Township's request to join the authority.
For a second time this year, the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority board has voted to accept a new member. The AAATA board voted unanimously last night to accept Ypsilanti Township as a member. The authority added the City of Ypsilanti back in June. C-E-O Michael Ford says Ypsilanti Township will get to help in decision making, but won't see expanded service unless without an increase in funding contributions. Next month the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti City Council will consider approval of the new articles of incorporation to officially add Ypsilanti Township.
