Details of a proposed settlement between Michigan State University and survivors of Larry Nassar have come to light.  Nassar is the former MSU sports doctor who will likely spend the rest of his life in prison for sexually assaulting his patients.  It's a condition of the settlement has upset some state lawmakers.

State lawmakers continued to push work requirements for Medicaid recipients through the Legislature.  The bill was voted out of committee Wednesday, and it passed a full Senate vote the next day.

Former state House Speaker Curtis Hertel is being remembered today as a leader whose willingness to compromise helped lead to a historic overhaul of how Michigan pays for public schools.  He died over the weekend at the age of 63.


The U.S. Supreme Court will soon hand down a ruling that may decide whether thousands of Michiganders can afford health insurance.

The court could strike down insurance subsidies offered under the federal health care law. That’s in states like Michigan where the federal government runs the health care exchange.
