The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has issued  the new "Clean Water Rule." How does it impact Michigan and Washtenaw County? Find out in this 89.1 WEMU's 'Issues of the Environment.'

Overview
 *   Previous water protection measures under the Clean Water Act made it unclear which waterways were covered, leaving gaps in the protection of many small streams, wetlands and other waters that feed into drinking water sources and are also used for fishing, swimming and community development.
 *   The Clean Water Rule clears up the ambiguity in protection, covering all navigable waterways and their tributaries that show physical features of flowing water. That can include a bed, bank and ordinary high water mark.
