University of Michigan Hopes App Promotes Wellness

Stress Busters
Apple App Store

The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor has released a free phone app designed to promote student wellness and campus health events.
The Ann Arbor News reports that the app also includes news alerts and inspirational messages. It has a one-touch dial button that links students with a responder if there is an emergency.

About 1,000 students and affiliates have downloaded the app so far.

Todd Sevig is director of counseling and psychological services at the university. He says he hopes that the app will help students combat stress, anxiety and depression.
The app is used at several U.S. universities. It is available in Apple's App Store and Google Play for Android devices.
