26 Ann Arbor Parks And Nature Areas Will Close Daily For Deer Cull

City of Ann Arbor

Twenty-six parks in Ann Arbor will close daily between 4PM and 7AM for three months to conduct a deer cull.

Starting January 1st, sharpshooters will use that time to kill one hundred deer to control their population.

City council member Sabra Briere from the first ward voted in favor of the cull but does not agree with the hours city staff chose to close the parks.  Especially because it could affect bicyclists who use the bike trials in the Argo and Bandemer nature areas for daily commutes.

Council members were not asked for their opinion regarding the park closures and their approval is not needed.
