AAATA Announces Holiday Service Reductions

The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority will have reduced service for much of the next two weeks.

The Ride will end fixed route bus service at seven o'clock Tuesday for Christmas Eve and then be closed all of Christmas Day.  Service will resume on December 26th but several routes will have reduced service or no service through the rest of the year.  This includes Route 4 along Washtenaw Avenue between Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti only running every 30 minutes, and 4B service will be eliminated.  The Ride will then shut down early on New Year's Eve and remained closed New Year's Day.

AirRide service will run all days but the schedule may vary from normal.

Shared ride service through Night Ride and Holiday Ride on designated holidays will be available.

Like many, I first came to this area when I started school at the University of Michigan, then fell in love with the community and haven’t left. After graduating from U of M in the mid 1990’s I interned at WDET for several years, while also working a variety of jobs in Ann Arbor. Then in 1999 I joined the WEMU news team.
