WikiCommons

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.  There are several places in Washtenaw County that provide services.

The latest Washtenaw County health survey indicates that 8% of residents in our county don't have medical insurance.  But no matter what your situation is, health department spokesperson SusanCerniglia says mental health services are available.  Organizations such as Catholic Social Services, Jewish Family Services, and the Corner Health provide help even to the uninsured.

The health department says the number of uninsured people in Washtenaw County dropped from 11% to 8% during the last five years because more people are taking advantage of the Affordable Care Act
