As the tax filing deadline approaches, hundreds of protests will take place around the country.

"Tax March in Ann Arbor"is part of a national day of tax marches taking place across Michigan on Saturday.

Michelle Deatrick, vice chair of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners and co-founder of Michigan to Believe In, says the march is to bring attention to what she called "our very broken tax system, on all levels, federal, state, and local."

"The rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer. And there are fewer and fewer in-between. And part of that is, in fact, a result of the tax system."

The protest is scheduled to begin at 2 PM Saturday afternoon in downtown Ann Arbor.  It will culminate with a rally on the University of Michigan Diagwith several speakers, including 12th District Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D)-Dearborn.
