Ann Arbor Meals On Wheels Offers More Than Meals During Pandemic

Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels

Ann Arbor’s Meals on Wheels is providing additional services to their clients during the coronavirus pandemic.

Toilet paper, soap, and shampoo are among the toiletries and household items the group is also delivering to clients on a weekly basis.  Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels Director Courtney Vanderlaan says many of their elderly clients are running low on those items but are afraid to leave their home since they’re considered a vulnerable population for COVID-19.

Courtney Vanderlaan: In the midst of this, they’ve really been trying to reduce the amount of time that they actually have to get on the bus, take public transportation out and then actually be in the stores.

Meals on Wheels is also conducting weekly wellness calls with its clients to maintain social interaction during this time of social distancing.
