The Ann Arbor Planning Commission is expected to set their work agenda for the year Tuesday night.  That's when they vote on the annual review of the master plan.

Planning Manager Wendy Rampson says moving forward on some recommendations from the North Main Huron River Task Force will be one primary area of focus.  This will include determining if and where commercial and residential use should take place along the river.

Rampson says they will also tackle Washtenaw Avenue right of way issues with an eye on making the corridor more transit and pedestrian friendly.  Other topics will include the Allen Creek Greenway and refining downtown zoning.

Like many, I first came to this area when I started school at the University of Michigan, then fell in love with the community and haven’t left. After graduating from U of M in the mid 1990’s I interned at WDET for several years, while also working a variety of jobs in Ann Arbor. Then in 1999 I joined the WEMU news team.
