As WEMU's Andrew Cluley reports, the school board last week discussed the issue and are to vote this week on putting the question on the ballot.

A tax used for roofs, parking lot improvements, accessibility upgrades and other maintenance work at Ann Arbor Public Schools may be up for renewal in November.  The school board is expected to put the renewal question on the ballot this week.  Trustee Glenn Nelson says the tax raises about $7.6 million a year that would otherwise need to come from some other place in the district's budget.

The current millage doesn't expire until the end of 2014, but Nelson says to begin budget work for the 2014-2015 school year the board needs to know if the sinking fund will still be there.  He says putting the  question on the ballot this year would also increase the possibility of passing some type of revenue enhancement millage next year.
