The new executive director of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival hopes everyone in the area will find something they like at the 31st annual event. That shouldn't be a problem with more than 140 concerts and events kicking-off tonight.
Director Amy Nesbit says it's a great way for the community to come together on a lovely summer night. She says people frequently meet friends and co-workers at the Top of the Park and other Summer Festival events in a casual atmosphere.
According to Nesbit a mix of returning favorites and new acts will be perform at Top of the Park, Hill Auditorium, the Power Center and other places around the city.
Highlights of the opening weekend include The Sun Messengers, Lily Tomlin, and Cake.
