Art And Soul-The Art Of Well Being: Do You Know Your Purpose And How That Can Bring You Joy?

Lisa Barry

This week's Art and Soul is about the art of well-being.  89.1 FM’s Lisa Barry talks with two Ann Arbor men who created a philosophy based blog called Chillpill.  Hien Lam and Matthew Hanson talk about the many choices we make in life and how they impact our happiness and sense of well-being.  Their "Two Minds Philosophy" comes down to a choice whether to have a "game mind" or a "blame mind."

Lam and Hanson recommend taking small steps each day in the direction of creating the life that makes you fulfilled and happy.  They agree no one likes change and that makes it difficult for people who may not even think about how little time they really have and the benefits of knowing yourself and learning and growing.

The Ann Arbor speakers and bloggers say many people find it easier to remain in their comfort zone and doing nothing to change their fate, only blaming the world for being unfair.  They recommend adopting a "game mind" versus a "blame mind" and making learning the reward for a better life, not winning.
