Boil Water Advisory Ends

By Bob Eccles

Ypsilanti, MI – Following bacteria test results, the Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority yesterday ended the "boil water" advisory for its customers.
Y-C-U-A director Larry Thomas thanked residents for their patience over the past four days during which the advisory was in effect.
Last Thursday's massive power failure caused water pressure to drop to nearly zero in the Y-C-U-A system, allowing unsafe levels of bacteria to contaminate the fresh water supply.
The Y-C-U-A serves residents in the city of Ypsilanti, Ypslanti Township, Superior Township, Pittsfield Township, and Augusta Township.
