Ann Arbor area residents interested in climate and adaptation can find out more about what’s going on locally tonight at the main Ann Arbor District Library.  The library and the city of Ann Arbor are hosting another forum in the Sustainable Ann Arbor Series.

According to Sustainability Associate Jamie Kidwell the meeting will offer the community a chance to learn about the new Community Climate Partnership which includes the city, the Ecology Center, the Huron River Watershed Council and others.  Kidwell says they will also be seeking feedback.

Kidwell since the city operations are only responsible for about two percent of Ann Arbor’s overall greenhouse gas production it’s important to get community participation.

Wednesday’s meeting starts at 7.  The series will continue next month with a meeting focusing on local food.

Like many, I first came to this area when I started school at the University of Michigan, then fell in love with the community and haven’t left. After graduating from U of M in the mid 1990’s I interned at WDET for several years, while also working a variety of jobs in Ann Arbor. Then in 1999 I joined the WEMU news team.
