With no deal in place, the proposed development for an International Village retail and residential complex in Ypsilanti is set to expire at the end of December.
Ypsilanti Community and Economic Development Director Beth Ernat said she has heard from the same Troy-based developer behind the expiring plan, Amy Foster.
“They have brought in a new architect, which is Hobbs & Black, and bringing them into the picture to recruit a traditional developer to potentially look at bringing forward a new development proposal,” says Ernat.
But Ernat says there is no proposal right now, so she could not comment on what that plan might include.
She does say once a city investigation into a trip she and 3 other city officials took to China to gather information about the expiring deal is completed, it will show she did nothing wrong.
