Eastern Michigan University is considering the possibility of selling its Kresge Environmental Center.  Some are not happy with the news.

Thebiology department at Easternis one of the groups that uses the 240 acres for classes and research projects in Lapeer.   Associate professor Dr. Maggie Hanes says if it's sold, it could affect students because they wouldn't have another facility similar to that one.

"It's such a different experience to be out and getting wet and getting hot and getting bitten, but also to be interacting so very closely with the organisms."

Eastern officials say this is all part of an evaluation process the university goes through during its annual budget plans.
