Pixabay

Augusta and Manchester Township are both asking residents to renew millages intended to help pay for local firefighting services.

Augusta Township is seeking a renewal of its current Fire Protection and Prevention Millage.

That millage adds 2 mills to local property taxes and is set to expire this year.

If voters approve the renewal, the millage would stay in effect for four more years and generate more than $400,000 in 2019 alone.

Manchester Township is also asking voters to renew a millage that helps pay for its fire protection services.

That proposal is would replace an expiring millage that adds .65 mills to property taxes.

If it passes, it would stay in effect for five years and generate over $125,000 in 2019.
