The digital age continues to expand across the business spectrum. Eastern Michigan University recognized this trend and started a program to help its students enter the digital business world more prepared and much more confident. In this week's "Focus on EMU," WEMU's Patrick Campion learns about EMU's Center for Digital Engagement with its director, Bud Gibson. They also talk about this year's Digital Engagement Workshop, which the center recently hosted.
About This Year's Digital Engagement Workshop
Back on November 16, EMU's Center for Digital Engagement held its eighth annual Digital Engagement Workshop.
This year's theme was "Your Life in Data," which focuses on how the data we emit on an almost continual basis can be used to shape our digital experience. They had Ron Fournier, Former Publisher of Crain's Detroit and currently President of Truscott-Rossman, as the opening keynote.
Ron, a renowned journalist, shared his insight on using data to craft stories and their trajectory in today's information-rich news environment. Contributing to the day's theme of digital engagement through data, we will also have digital leaders from Pinterest, General Motors, Dominos, Google, Duo Security, Zingerman's, Global Team Blue, Destination Ann Arbor, Fluency Media, PWB Marketing Communications, and many more. Steve Lowisz, CEO of Qualigence, closed the day with the interesting marketing problem of finding and engaging highly skilled talent in today's tight job market.
