Plans are moving forward on an effort to start building hospital ventilators in Ypsilanti Township.
The Ford Motor Company is retooling its Rawsonville Components Plant to build the devices.
Ypsilanti Township Supervisor Brenda Stumbo says, if things go as planned, production could start by the end of April.
“I’m very proud Ford Motor Company and all the others that are participating in trying to protect the health of our country,” Stumbo says.
Ford officials have stated their goal is to have 50,000 ventilators built by July 4th.
