Medicare open enrollment is open until December 15. For Washtenaw County residents, there’s help available to guide them through changes to their federal insurance policy.

Allison Ranusch is a resource advocate for Catholic Social Services in Ann Arbor. She says that Medicare plans can change yearly, often leaving recipients confused about their options.

“Everybody has a different drug plan and during [open enrollment] you can compare...and see what plan would be best for you," Ranusch says.

She says Catholic Social Services helps around 500 Medicare recipients in Washtenaw County each year. For more information call 734-712-7775.
