A group of local Republicans plan to attend tonight’s GOP debate in Detroit.

Members of the Washtenaw County Republican Party will be in the audience for tonight’s GOP debate at the Fox Theatre.

Howard Morris is a local business owner and Washtenaw County Republican Party member.  He says recent conversations he’s had with fellow Republicans have centered around what he calls “a crazy year,” politically.

“The profile of what these debates are like and what the campaigns are like are so different than in previous years. Hopefully we’ll get back to issues and less personal attacks. but I’m not sure anyone’s really depending on that.”

Morris says, although he’s not a big fan of leading contender Donald Trump, he believes the GOP will support whoever the nominee is in November.
